Training gives us an outlet for suppressed energies created by stress and thus tones the spirit just as exercise conditions the body

SSTIKS 2016

SSTIKS will be held June 10-12th 2016 and is a family friendly weekend event featuring some of the best instructors and competitors in Greenland-style kayaking. The children’s track is an important part of the weekend and it’s also what sets them apart from the usual kayak events. Beginners to advanced paddlers and rollers will find new challenges and build new skills.

SSTIKS takes place at Twanoh State Park, on  the Hood Canal east of Union, WA. They will again feature a large group of Harvey Golden’s replica aboriginal kayaks and like last year, SSTIKS will be offering a group campsite option near the beach. This option will be charged per tent and will include camping on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night. Alternatively, Twanoh now offers campsite reservations. If you prefer the Twanoh state park designated campsites, make your reservation early.

Have a skin on frame qajaq? Be sure to bring it to SSTIKS! Use it, share it with others. SSTIKS is The Place to share what you know and ask questions about kayak and kayak gear building.

And SSTIKS has a fun and lively auction to help keeps costs affordable. We accept cash, checks, and credit cards. And if you are crafty, bring an item to donate to the auction. Past donations have included hand-made notecards, pottery, quilts, wooden spoons, books and more.
